The work · 2014 – present

Every project here laddered up to a larger decision.

Each engagement here is a record of a strategic question I found, the alignment I built around it, and an outcome that moved the business — the fullness of a decade spent turning design into a leadership function. Open any era for the outcome that moved the business.

McGraw Hill
Lead UX Designer · Aug 2024 – Apr 2025

Owned brand-new literacy student experiences from discovery to launch at enterprise scale — aligning engineering, product, design systems, and third-party API partners into a single delivery. AE Machines & earlier
UX Engineer & design roles · 2014 – 2017

Core team on Product Design of the Year–winning software (2018) — designing daily alongside developers across the full stack of brand, wireframes, and prototypes. Traveled nationally to pitch the product face-to-face with prospective users and partners, expanding the company's market presence, and ran the usability studies that turned what I heard on the road into real UX improvements.

Beyond the timeline · A specialty

Study Aloud — the venture that sharpens the craft.

Alongside my corporate career, I founded and lead Study Aloud, an adaptive Bible learning app shipped to the App Store. It's where I practice the full stack of leadership — distributed teams across three continents, infrastructure migrations, partnerships, and capital — and every one of those lessons comes back into the rooms above.

Want the story behind any of these?

I work with organizations as a design leader — whether that's a full-time leadership seat, a fractional engagement, or strategic advisory for a season of change. If the work above looks like what your organization needs, let's talk.
